Engineers recommend that the Sabine River Authority of Texas, Lake Fork Division, make minor repairs to the soil cement along the Lake Fork Dam, some of which are currently
located underwater. Recent wave action dislodged numerous small sections of the soil cement along the upstream side of the embankment, which protects the earthen portion
of the dam.
To facilitate these superficial and routine repairs, a drawdown of the reservoir will begin Monday, December 13th to a target elevation of 397’ msl. The current schedule is to have
the work completed and the lake trending back up by the end of January 2022, but the rate of rise will depend on the progress of work, rainfall, and inflow from upstream
tributaries.
